Niyi Oyinlola, a resident of Lagos State, has narrated how Lagos-based entrepreneur Emmanuel Omokhomion, also known as Clover on X, failed to return his wireless microphone and LED light despite repeated efforts to retrieve them.
He told FIJ he had given Omokhomion several deadlines in 2024 and even called him out on X to return the equipment, but none produced his desired result. As a result, he has begun to give up on retrieving them.
Oyinlola said since November 2023, when he agreed to lend his equipment to Omokhomion to launch his podcast, he has lost many paid photography gigs.
He stated that he lent Omokhomion various items — including four tripods, a light box, two microphones, two portable video recording kits, two phone holders, a bulb, a smartphone gimbal, and an LG HD smart projector — after Omokhomion shared his podcast idea on November 27, 2023.

Oyinlola said that on September 18, almost a year after Oyinlola lent him the four pieces of equipment, he called Omokhomion to return them. An X user had claimed that Omokhomion lacked integrity in business deals.
Omokhomion agreed to return them but asked for some time before doing so.
“On September 24, I contacted Omokhomion to arrange a shoot at BeckyzArcade, a studio Omokhomion claimed to own and had previously allowed him access to. But Omokhomion said the studio was booked and promised to return the equipment a few days later. He hasn’t done so till date,” Oyinlola told FIJ.
Oyinlola said Omokhomion promised to return the equipment multiple times but continually made excuses until he sent an Uber to collect the equipment from Omokhomion’s office.
“When the Uber returned, all but two items were missing: a microphone, worth nearly N40,000, and an LED light, valued at almost N65,000. I told him these items were missing, and he directed me to contact Biodun, his manager,” he recalled.

“When I called Biodun, he said Omokhomion was at the back of the house smoking cannabis, despite telling me he was not around. I asked Biodun if there was an event on the days Omokhomion had claimed he was too busy to return the equipment, but Biodun said that wasn’t true.
“This was someone my company supported with a DJ, photographer and videographer for his brand launch party as a token of the good relationship we thought we had. As it stands, I am already tired of asking him to return my equipment because he clearly doesn’t want to,” Oyinlola added.
FIJ called Omokhomion on his two lines, but it did not connect. He had also not responded to the text sent to his lines at press time. This is not the first time FIJ would try to contact Omokhomion. In November, FIJ contacted Omokhomion via iMessage. He denied Oyinlola’s accusations.
