Tizeti Network Limited has returned and fixed the internet device belonging to Arab David (real name withheld), an Oyo State resident, four months after the company picked it up for servicing.

The company returned and installed the device on Monday while the internet connection was restored on Wednesday. But the company would not have done this if the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), the government agency for consumer protection in Nigeria, had not intervened in the matter.

In September, FIJ reported how David had been getting bouts of excuses from Tizeti after the company’s customer representatives picked up his internet device on June 21.

He had encountered a series of downtime with the internet device after he installed it in his house. When David complained about the issue to Tizeti, they said Tizeti’s rep would have to take the device away for servicing.

They initially promised to return David’s device the week after June 21, but they failed to do so. The representatives also told him he would get it in August. He did not get it. He even sent them multiple emails and called them several times, yet Tizeti failed to deliver.

When FIJ called Tizeti in September, a customer representative said she would escalate the issue and the team in charge would reach out to the customer. However, Tizeti failed to return the internet device to David.

The Oyo resident called Tizeti again on October 21, but all he got was the same “hopeless and ridiculous promise”. Unsatisfied with the response from the company, David decided to report Tizeti to the FCCPC.

“I sent an email on October 21, and the FCCPC acknowledged it on October 28. They promised to swing into action and work on the complaint,” he told FIJ.

The FCCPC reacted to David’s complaint on Monday and Tizeti called him the same day.

David told FIJ that Tizeti called to inform him they were on their way with the outdoor device for installation.

“They came on Monday for the installation, and on Wednesday, October 30, the internet connection was restored,” he revealed.

So if the FCCPC hadn’t contacted the company they wouldn’t have done what they needed to do. They didn’t respond in 4 months. But with the FCCPC’s intervention they moved like lightning.
Mental note to self: Never get involved Tizeti.

It is really annoying,I paid for installation and a month subscription just to try how there network is,they gave me 3 different dates, with excuses on all the dates,I just told them am not interested anymore, because I wonder what will happen next.

Please help me, same thing happened to me in abeokuta. For the past 9 months now that my outer unit service had been retrieved for repair by tizeti they refuse to return it.
