Daniel Yohanna, a Lagos resident, has accused Green Africa Airways Ltd., of canceling his flight and refusing to offer him another ticket or refund his fare.
Yohanna booked a Q9 396 Lagos-Owerri flight which was scheduled to depart at 7:30 am on December 27, 2021, but less than 24 hours before the departure, Green Africa mailed him to say the flight had been canceled “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
Contained in the mail was an instruction to contact [email protected] to “reschedule your flight or request for a refund”. Yohanna took the company up on this offer.
On January 21, 2022, he mailed the company to request that his cancelled one-way trip to Owerri be rescheduled to a two-way trip from Lagos to Abuja and back to Lagos. The total cost of this two-way trip was around N36,000 at the time, an estimated N11,000 less than the cost of the initial one-way trip to Owerri.

Green Africa refused this request, prompting Yohanna to request a refund on January 22. Responding, the company said, “You should receive a refund within twenty (20) working days”. Three months after, the refund has not been made.
FIJ sent an email to Green Africa, but as of press time, the company had not responded to it.
