Aero Contractors has returned N53,000 to Musa Ahmed (not real name), the Abuja resident whose ticket fee was withheld for three months after a cancelled flight.

The airline refunded Ahmed on Friday, two days after FIJ published a story on his experience.

An excited Ahmed appreciated FIJ, saying, “They have sent me my money. They sent it on Friday morning. Thank you very much.”

Ahmed had earlier told FIJ that he booked a flight scheduled for February 16 but it was cancelled hours before the fixed date.

The Abuja resident said he had no other choice than to travel by road as there were no available flights he could book. He applied for a refund the following week but weeks went by without a reversal from Aero Contractors.

He also said he called Aero Contractors several times and sent numerous emails to the airline but did not get a positive response.

However, within two days of FIJ’s publication on the incident, Ahmed’s bank account was refunded with the money
