Aero Contractors has refunded N80,250 to Joseph Ezechi, a Port Harcourt-based man, whose money it withheld for 10 months.
The refund was processed on Monday, four days after an FIJ report detailed how Aero Contractors failed to issue an N80,410 refund for a flight ticket he booked in May 2023, despite multiple complaints.
A relieved Ezechi told FIJ that he was grateful for its intervention in what had seemed like an impossible situation.
“Good evening, FIJ. Aero Contractors has just refunded my money. I don’t even know how to thank you for this gesture. I am deeply grateful. Thank you very much, FIJ,” Ezechi told FIJ.

On Thursday, FIJ reported that Ezechi began pestering the airline company for a full refund one week after submitting all the necessary paperwork. However, Aero Contractors repeatedly ignored his emails.
A frustrated Ezechi said he visited the airline’s Port Harcourt office to demand his refund, but staff referred him to their Lagos office. According to Ezechi, they said refunds were not processed in Port Harcourt and that he would need to travel to Lagos to make progress on his request.
Ezechi continued to hope for a refund until FIJ intervened. According to him, after FIJ contacted Aero Contractors on Tuesday, the airline, for the first time since May 2023, responded to his email on Wednesday, requesting his identity card. Five days later, the airline paid him the refund in full.

Aero contractors is one of the airlines with a very terrible customer care service…
