Afialink International, an online marketplace for vehicles, has refunded the N2.9 million it receiveed from Obinna Victor, a Canada-based Nigerian, as payment for the purchase of a Blue Hyundai Sonata in July 2021.
A delighted Obinna confirmed the refund to FIJ with a payment screenshot on Tuesday.
“Afialink has finally refunded my money. Thank you, FIJ,” Obinna said.
The development came 24 hours after FIJ reported how Obinna paid the said amount to the company for the purchase of a Blue Hyundai Sonata 2012 but did not get the car.

He had shown interest in the car after it was advertised on the company’s official Instagram page. Afterwards, he paid N1.75 million for the car, and another N1.15 million for shipping to the company.
However, after making the payment, the company failed to deliver the car to the customer.
Obinna would consistently reach out to the company to either deliver the car or refund his money.

In April, and despite Obinna’s consistent demand for a refund, Afialink once again contacted him to request that he add an additional N500,000 to the initial payment to secure the release of the car.
Obinna refused to make any additional payment, insisting the car was either delivered or his N2.9 million refunded to him.
