Dana Air, a locally owned commercial airline in Nigeria, has refunded Ngozi Okoro’s ₦40,000.

This followed FIJ’s report detailing how the airline cancelled its trips twice and failed to refund Okoro’s money.

Okoro, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), reached out to FIJ via WhatsApp on Friday to convey the news of the refund.

She said, “Good evening, sir. I just got my refund. Thank you so much for your assistance.”

FIJ’s report of May 3 was informed by the corps member’s narration that she booked a flight ticket with the airline on February 11 and it was later cancelled by the company before February 28, the departure date, for operational reasons.

She was prompted to reschedule the trip to March 1, but to her dismay, the company cancelled the trip.

She could not be patient any longer, as she had an appointment to keep in Lagos State and had to travel by road, a route she never intended to travel on.

The cancellations by the company meant she was eligible for a refund. She then applied for it, but it was not processed as timely as she had expected.

“They cancelled the flight again. I never expected two disappointments at a stretch. With this development, I asked for a refund by submitting all the relevant details they required of me,” the passenger told this newspaper.
