Into Migration, a travel consulting firm, has refunded Nigerian customer Eniola Akinosho’s $6,800 paid for an Ireland work visa in May.
The refund followed an FIJ story published in October detailing how the company failed to process the application within the promised timeline.
Providing an update about the refund on Tuesday, Akinosho, a Nigerian based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said, “I am glad to inform you that Into Migration has completed the refund today.”
The consultant refunded the money in four batches.
The first batch was received twice ($1,800 and $200) on October 22 while he got the second batch on October 28. The sum of $2,620, excluding the percentage deducted by the company according to its policy, completed the refund.
Delighted, Akinosho thanked FIJ for reporting the story. “I thank you for your effort and support. There is hope for a better country with an organisation like FIJ,” the UAE resident said.

Akinosho had paid the money to the company for visa processing on behalf of his sister who was planning to relocate to the United Kingdom.
He filed a refund request in July because of the delay, yet the company failed to honour the request within the timeframe it committed to in an agreement signed with the customer.
When FIJ contacted Joel Adesokan, the company’s chief executive officer, for comment on the October story he confirmed the request, promising it would be processed in 14 days.
