Jumia has made a refund of N100,080 to Opeyemi Felix, a customer who got debited twice after the two flight bookings he carried out on the popular online shopping platform failed on March 6.

Felix confirmed receipt of the refund to FIJ on Wednesday.

“Jumia has finally refunded my N100,080. God bless you all at FIJ. God will continue to uphold FIJ as it continues to fight for the masses. Thank you, FIJ,” he said.

FIJ had earlier reported how Felix tried booking an Air Peace Lagos-Abuja flight on Jumia Nigeria in March but was debited N50,040 twice without receiving value.

The Lagos-based ticketing officer ended up missing his flight and the business meeting he was supposed to attend as a result of the incident.

Felix said he immediately contacted Jumia’s customer care service after the failed transactions and was told that the issue had been forwarded to the appropriate channel for resolution.

He would, however, continue to get the same response from the online retail store for two months.

Felix told FIJ on Wednesday that the exact amount Jumia refunded was N96,080, adding that the retail store had previously promised him a N4,000 cashback, which is now available on his dashboard.
