GText Homes, a real estate company owned by Stephen Akintayo, has finally resolved its outstanding payment with Adeshina Ogedengbe, a service supplier, after months of delay.

This positive development came six months after FIJ’s initial report on the company’s failure to fulfill its financial commitment to Ogedengbe, who had fulfilled his side of the agreement.

Expressing his contentment with the recent progress, Ogedengbe said the awaited resolution began in July when GText Homes unexpectedly paid him one million naira. He said the balance of N1.9 million came in August.

Ogedengbe thanked FIJ for its role in helping him retrieve his owed funds.

He said: “Thank you, FIJ, for helping me get my money. Thank you for always helping the masses and the vulnerable.”

Ogedengbe had raised the issue of GText Homes breaching their contractual agreement by withholding his N2.9 million.

The contract, signed on March 16, 2022, was for the supply of laterite sand to GText’s Ikorodu Sapphire Estate, a task Ogedengbe completed in accordance with the terms.

According to Ogedengbe, the contract stipulated that he would be paid within 45 days of supplying the estate, after both parties had endorsed the relevant documentation.

However, when the payment date of June 9 arrived, GText Homes defaulted. Despite Ogedengbe’s persistence, the company’s staff avoided addressing the issue, leading to growing frustration.

After the involvement of the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) in October, GText Homes paid Ogedengbe N12 million, a partial payment of the owed sum.

The remaining N2.9 million remained outstanding, and the company continued to neglect its obligation to settle the debt until FIJ stepped in.
