Israeli forces have attacked a procession of mourners carrying the body of Shireen Abu Akleh, the Al Jazeera reporter who was allegedly killed during a raid by the same forces on Wednesday.
According to UK Independent, Abu Akleh’s corpse was being taken to East Jerusalem where funeral rites were expected to be performed when the mourners were attacked by the security forces. There are reports of stun grenades being thrown also.

Children and women fled the scene, while other members of the procession attempted to guard the reporter’s casket from falling off.
Thousands of Palestinians attended the funeral before her burial that is scheduled to hold at Mount Zion Protestant Cemetery on Friday.
The Palestinian American was covering a military raid in Jenin, a northern town and historical flashpoint in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, when she was hit in the head by a bullet during a gun battle between Israeli and Palestinian forces on Wednesday.
While absolving itself of any wrongdoing, Israel claimed there was a possibility that Abu Akleh was hit by armed Palestinians who fired widely during the crossfire.
The Palestinian government is, however, claiming that the reporter was killed by Israeli forces.
