Residents living on the mainland of Lagos have lamented the spate of crime, espepcialliy armed robbery, during the day, with the Police often reportedly fleeing.

Businesses were targets in the robbery reported to have occurred on Friday at Surulere, Lagos.

“Armed robbers came broad daylight to Samsung Bode Thomas with guns today, collected everything they had including money and things they were selling,” Olive Anusionwu wrote on Twitter.

“Policemen were opposite under the tree left their van and ran away. Weldone Nigerian Police we are proud of you guys.”

Corroborating the incident, @Penlord09 said that the robbers were six; three on the bike while three others carried out the robbery.

“…Police were blowing the siren and drove down to Bode Thomas while those guys head towards Eric Moore road,” Penlord09 wrote.

Replying, Temivamps revealed that two robberies, targetting businesses, happened in Akoka within six days.

“Armed robbers came to University Road Akoka this afternoon shooting sporadically then went into Konga Office and stole from them. Same thing happened on Saturday at Next Salon in Akoka. Insecurity is on the all time high,” Temivamps stated.

“A co-worker just this week @yaba went to fix her hair right beside our office, she had an Iphone, Iwatch, Macbook and her car key all on her. She was the only one robbed in the salon… Thank God say car no dey nearby,” Philps wrote.
