Police officers attached to the Area F Police Station in Ikeja, Lagos, have arrested Daniel Ojukwu, a reporter with the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ).
Ojukwu said the police arrested him this evening after he told one of them to stop punching a driver.
He stated that he saw some police officers without name tags, and one of them was punching a driver before he intervened.

“One of them was punching a driver, and I called him out and told him he was wrong. I called the police spokesperson and gave them the phone to talk to him,” he said.
“Afterwards, they seized my phone and identity card and took me to their police station.”
FIJ called Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos police spokesperson, but he had not responded at press time.
