30.09.2021 news Assailants Burn Police Station in Anambra, Kill Officer

Ajali Police Station in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State has been set on fire by assailants on Thursday.

In a video obtained by FIJ, the lifeless body of a policeman was seen on the ground. Police officers were also seen running to safety.

According to an eyewitness, the attackers, dressed in red and black clothes, arrived the town in a Lexus car.

FIJ gathered that the road leading to Oko, a town close to the razed police station, was blocked over the attack.

This came less than 48 hours after Dr. Chike Akunyili, the husband of Dora, the late Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), was killed by unknown gunmen.

Tochukwu Anthony Ikenganyia, the spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, didn’t answer FIJ’s calls for updates on the attack. He also didn’t respond to a text message sent to him.
