20.06.2022 Featured Bandits Kill a Herdsman, Kidnap Another in Abuja

Terrorists have killed Ado Mamman, a herdsman, and kidnapped Maude Ado in a Fulani settlement in Pai community, Kwali area of Abuja. 

Shehu, a resident of the community, and Mohammed Usman, Gwagwalada Area Council Branch secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), confirmed the incident. 

According to Daily Trust, Shehu said the shooting of Mamman occurred around 11:12 pm on Sunday.

The bandits shot Mamman in the chest as he prevented them from taking his kinsman.

“It was the sporadic gun shot that even attracted the attention of the villagers till about 4:00 am this morning, when it was discovered that bandits killed one of the herders and whisked away one other person,” Shehu said. 

Usman said that Mamman had been buried. 

“But as I speak to you, a contact is yet to be established from the abductors of the man,” Usman said. 

Abuja has been enveloped in rumours and news of abductions in recent times.

FIJ could not reach Adeh Josephine, the FCT police public relations officer, on the phone. FCT police had also not replied to messages sent to them at press time.
