Bandits killed two Niger State indigenes and abducted two Chinese expatriates on Tuesday night, FIJ can report.
The victims were working on a power transmission line along Gussase Village when the attackers struck.
Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, confirmed this development to FIJ. He said the police officers attached to the facility engaged the bandits in a gun duel to rescue some victims.

“While we were able to rescue some victims, three Chinese expatriates were abducted, another Chinese and two other local workers were injured,” he told FIJ.
“Unfortunately, two injured local workers were later confirmed dead on getting to the hospital.”
Abiodun said the attack was not connected to the ongoing Zungeru Hydro-Electric Power Dam project in Niger State as reported in some quarters.
On Tuesday, FIJ reported that fleeing bandits, led by Kachalla Halilu and Na-Belloare, were infiltrating Kaduna and Niger State after a military raid dislodging them from Zamfara forests.
Sources had said the terrorists were “moving on motorcycles through a village in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State to Birnin Gwari, a porous border with Niger State”.
