Busayo Ayodele, a Lagos-based woman, repaid two mobile money loans on time — N14,000 to OKash on March 28 and another to EaseMoni on March 30 — yet the credit bureau still flagged her Bank Verification Number (BVN) as that of a loan defaulter.
Ayodele told FIJ that her account officer informed her in early April that Blueridge Microfinance Bank, OKash and EaseMoni’s host bank had reported her BVN as though she had defaulted, even though she hadn’t.
She said she has since been requesting a letter of non-indebtedness from Blueridge Microfinance Bank, but the bank has refused to issue one.

According to Ayodele, the bank assured her they would escalate the issue, but they have yet to do so. Instead, they are asking her to instruct her primary bank to email them requesting the letter on her behalf.
“For four weeks, I’ve been on their necks to issue me a letter of non-indebtedness. Now, they’re saying I should go back to my bank, and that the bank should email them requesting that I be issued the letter,” Ayodele told FIJ.

“My bank said it is my right to approach the financial institution I got a loan from and request a letter of non-indebtedness. But now they’re saying they can’t issue it unless I get an official request from my main bank. This issue has cost me a lot.”
When FIJ called Blueridge, a call representative said Ayodele should draft a handwritten letter, scan and send it via email to the managing director of Blueridge Microfinance Bank, stating the reasons she needs the letter.

That is too frequent to Blueridge MFB and it so bad, they stress their customers, waste peoples call card, why will someone need a letter from another bank before getting letter of Non Indebtedness??
It is only Blueridge that I know who does that
