Bandits have released 15 out of the remaining kidnapped students of Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi, Kaduna, in their custody after the payment of an undisclosed amount.

On Sunday, Joseph Hayab, Chairman, Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), told The Cable that the students were released on Saturday night.

More than 120 students were abducted from their hostels in Bethel on July 5. Shortly after their abduction, five students were rescued by security operatives after escaping from captivity.

On July 25, 28 students were also released by the bandits after two weeks in captivity. The release was said to have followed the payment of N100m ransom.

FIJ made several calls to the phone number of Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, for comments but they were not answered. He has also not responded to an SMS sent to his phone.
