Nigerian wrestler, Blessing Oborududu, has lost in the final match of the 68kg women’s freestyle category at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The Bayelsa State indigene was defeated by America’s Tamyra Mensah-Stock in a gripping match that saw both wrestlers give little away.

Despite the loss, she recorded a feat by becoming the first Nigerian to win a medal in any wresting category at the Olympics.

With Ese Brume’s earlier third place finish in the women’s long jump, Nigeria has now recorded a silver and a bronze on the medals’ table.
