President Muhammadu Buhari will leave for the United Kingdom on a “scheduled medical follow up”, Femi Adesina, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, has announced.
According to Adesina, Buhari will leave on Friday, June 25, and is due back in the country on the second week of July.
Since 2015, Buhari has spent more than 175 days in London on medical leave despite the state house clinic receiving an allocation of N6.4 billion since 2016.
Buhari’s last trip was on March 30, a week before the National Association of Resident Doctors embarked on a nationwide strike to demand for payment of salaries and an increase in the N5,000 hazard allowance.
