The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has shut down its campuses over reported cases of coronavirus, FIJ can report.

The university medical centre has recorded an increase in the number of students with COVID-19 symptoms.

Several sources contacted in the school told FIJ that many students are falling sick and showing serious symptoms of Covid-19.

In a statement published on the university’s website on Tuesday, the institution management confirmed that it is being affected by a potential third wave of the coronavirus.

“The University of Lagos Medical Centre wishes to inform all members of the University of Lagos Community about what appears to be the start of a potential 3rd wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Lagos State,” the statement read in part.
