The High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has sentenced Peter Nwachukwu, husband of the late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu, to death by hanging.
Justice Nwosu-Iheme, who passed the sentence on Monday, found him guilty of the singer’s death which happened on April 8, 2022, stating that the prosecution had proved its case.
Nwachukwu was arraigned on a 23-count charge for culpable homicide punishable with death, criminal intimidation, cruelty to children, criminal intimidation of children, spousal battery and others.
He was prosecuted by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (OAGF) after his arrest on April 11, 2022, three days after the singer’s death.
