Precious Chike (not real name) has lamented the constant delay of Airpeace flights, which made her miss an important meeting in Warri on May 7.

Chike told FIJ that her Abuja-Warri flight was rescheduled due to airstrip closure, despite assurances from airline operators that such would not happen on that day.

“It was annoying because the information released by airline operators was that the closure wouldn’t occur until Monday. We were told we had the option to fly to Asaba or Benin, but we had to pay for the extra cost of travel,” she said.

Chike said she had an appointment scheduled for 1 pm, but to her surprise, Air Peace said the next available flight to Benin was scheduled for 1:40 pm.

“They gave all this information without apologies or remorse. They insisted we pay extra N15,000 to fly to Benin after paying N50, 000 for the original destination,” she said.

“Now, not only did they delay my appointment, I had to pay for a cab drop from Benin to Warri, which cost me extra money than I bargained for.”

“I felt helpless and horrible because it was a pure act of wickedness from Air Peace. You can see from the message that no apology was given nor remorse shown. They did this because they felt untouchable.”

FIJ made several phone calls to Air Peace for comments, but they were not answered. A message sent to them had also not been responded to at press time.
