Jamiu Adekoya, a business owner resident in Ogun State, has narrated how his N9,300 went missing after a transaction on Palm Credit app.

Adekoya told FIJ that after making a payment on the app on April 12, he was debited twice, although he transacted once.

“After making the payment, I got a debit of N9,300, and then two seconds after, another debit came in. The first debit showed Easy Buy, which is for palm credit, and the second debit the narration shows Paystack,” he said.

“Paystack is the merchant. They are the gateway palm credit uses to receive payments. All this happened around 7 pm, so I couldn’t call Paystack or palm credit to notify them.

“I called the next day and they said they were going to investigate it. Five days after their investigation, they said they only received one payment. They requested that I visit my bank for a refund.”

Adekoya said his visit to Access Bank revealed that both payments were successful.

“Access bank told me both payments were successful from my statement of account. They even gave me the transaction reference to show Palm Credit and Paystack,” he said.

“I presented the information I got from Access Bank to Palm Credit, Easy Buy and Paystack, but they still insisted that they got only one payment.

“Now, I keep getting tossed here and there by these institutions. Palm Credit is denying receiving the other N9,300, and so is Paystack.

FIJ sent an email to Palm Credit and Paystack but they were yet to give a response at press time.
