Yahya Abdullahi, a Niger State resident, has accused Wallets Africa, a cross-border payment platform, of withholding his N255,000.
Abdullahi told FIJ that on September 21, he made an N850,000 deposit to the platform to convert to its dollar equivalent so he could pay for a merchandise.
According to him, his transaction failed multiple times, and he was unable to get the dollar value. He then made efforts to withdraw the entire sum, but was only able to withdraw N595,000.

He said, “I have been registered with Wallets Africa for about three months now. Last week, I successfully topped my wallet with N850,000 via an Ecobank Verve card with the aim of funding my virtual dollar card in order to pay online for a merchandise.
“Thereafter, I tried to add the said amount to my dollar card, which proved abortive following several attempts.
“I then resorted to transferring the money back to my bank account. I was only able to transfer N595,000 back to my bank account within two days. When I tried transferring N250,000 within the wee hours of Tuesday, the amount was debited from my wallet but was not credited to my bank account.

“Several attempts to reach their support via live chat, emails and all social media apps proved abortive.”
When FIJ contacted the company, an agent told our reporter that she would reach Abdullahi to resolve the matter.
