Dana Air customer Manuchismo Amadi, on July 18, 2022, bought four tickets worth N179,280 for himself, his wife and children to go to Port Harcourt from Lagos.
But before the set date for their flight, Dana Air cancelled the flight for reasons that Amadi said he was not clear about. He said he requested a refund for the tickets but was not reimbursed.

On March 31, Amadi sent another email to the airline to remind them of his refund request, and in response, Dana Air asked for his booking reference number, which they said would enable them assist him.
Amadi has since sent his booking reference to the airline but has yet to be assisted in any way.

He believes that the airline’s delay in refunding his money is a tactic to hold his money until the one-year window for recovering unutilised tickets expires.
“This is just a scam because they will do nothing, and they have done nothing since last year July,” he said.
FIJ contacted the airline via email and a phone call but did not receive any response.
