Paul Lowe, the Registrar General of Scotland, released Queen Elizabeth II’s death certificate on Thursday, and according to the document, the Queen died of old age.
The certificate also stated that the Queen died in Balmoral Castle at 3:10 pm on September 8. Buckingham announced the death of the 96-year-old monarch over three hours later at 6:30 pm.

Before announcing her death, Buckingham Palace said she was under medical supervision after pulling out of a virtual privy council with Truss’ new cabinet a day before.

As concerns grew over her health on Thursday, Prince Charles, her eldest son; William, Duke of Cambridge; and other members of her family travelled to Balmoral, where she was undergoing medical evaluation, to be with her.
Princess Anne, the Queen’s only daughter, registered her mother’s death certificate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
