11.08.2022 Featured Driver Steals Employer’s Vehicle 3 Weeks After Assuming Work

The Lagos State Police Command arrested Ortema Paul, a 41-year-old driver, on the Ojodu axis of Lagos State while on his way to sell his employer’s 2021 Toyota Hilux pickup van on Tuesday.

This was revealed in a statement signed by Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State police spokesperson, and released on Thursday.

“Detectives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a driver, Ortema Paul ‘m’ aged 41 within the Ojodu axis of Lagos State while on his way to sell off his employer’s 2021 Toyota Hilux pickup van for twenty million naira,” the statement read.

”The suspect was arrested on August 9, 2022, alongside his guarantor, Iorfa Paul ‘m’ aged 40 and Ojo Solomon ‘m’ aged 29 who was contracted to locate and disable the tracker in the vehicle.

“The arrest followed the launching of a swift investigation into the matter immediately a report of the stealing was received. Suspects will be arraigned at the end of the investigation.”

According to the statement, the suspect, his guarantor Lorfa Paul and Ojo Solomon, who was hired to find and turn off the tracker in the car, were all apprehended on Tuesday.
