The warning strike the Nigerian Labour Congress declared in Kaduna state on Monday in reaction to the state government’s mass retrenchment of workers has been suspended.

Ayuba Wabba, the President of the NLC, announced the decision Wednesday evening, saying it was taken in order to honour the invitation of the Federal Government on Thursday.

The strike, which grounded Kaduna State to halt and was badly received by the Governor, was three days old before it was suspended.
