Uchechukwu Anyanwu first heard of Let’s Farm in 2020 when he stumbled on an article promoting the company on Nairaland, a social media platform. He would later invest in the company.
With an attractive 35 percent return on investment and other claims that assured investors their money was safe, Enitan Bello, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), swindled unsuspecting Nigerians, including Anyanwu, who invested N175,000 in palm oil processing in July 2020.
“My money was to accumulate to N236,250 by April 2020, but I never received it. And since I invested till now, it has been one issue or the other. Up till now, I have received nothing from Let’s Farm, not even a penny from them,” he said.

When Anyanwu realised the many promises made by Enitan Bello were false, he and other victims created a group to plan how to retrieve their money. However, informants soon infiltrated the group and conveyed what they discussed to Let’s Farm.
Fiyin Osoko, another investor with Let’s Farm, said till she travelled out of Nigeria, she hoped she would get her money, but it never happened.
She said she invested N500,000 in April 2020 and was to get her profits in another seven months.

“When my investment had reached its maturity, they emailed me, asking for an extension, claiming they had encountered some problems and could not pay the money. The extension was supposed to be for four months, but it dragged on and on, and now, Let’s Farm is not reachable,” she told FIJ.
She said Let’s Farm disappeared with the money of all its investors.
“My sister also invested N1 million, and she experienced the same thing. They owe many people money. It’s a scam at this point because you cannot reach them now,” she said.

“They do not communicate, there is no means of reaching them, and they have millions of different investors’ money with them.”
FIJ placed calls to the two telephone lines belonging to Let’s Farm, one rang but was unanswered, while the other was switched off. A text message sent to them had not been responded to at press time.
