Freedom Synergy Pro, a Nigerian investment company, has pulled a vanishing act for over 10 months now, and investors have no knowledge of what is happening to their money.

Some investors told FIJ the company had sold enticing packages to them, assuring them of huge returns, between 20 and 100 percent of their investments.

However, months after trusting the firm with their monies, they have neither received the said RoI nor retrieved their capital.

Afolabi Ogunruku (not real name) told FIJ that he invested in March 2022 after listening to one of the company’s many jingles on Nigeria Info FM.

He said that he believed the company because they had continued to boast about their three-year success as an investment platform.

Another appealing feature of the company, according to Ogunruku, was its business model. Freedom Synergy Pro said it would sell some goods to foreign clients, make profits and then return a portion of the profit to the investor, he said.

“After I listened to their advert, I called them and they directed me to their office in Opebi, Ikeja. I filled out a form there and invested N150,000. My RoI was 100 percent, and they promised to pay it up in a year,” Ogunruku told FIJ.

He said that the company sent him the dates they would pay him his interest after he subscribed to their investment package.

Ogunruku said that the company paid him in July and August but stopped paying him in September, and when he demanded his money from them, they asked him to hold on.

“I have called them several times, but each time I do, they say they have been working, but money is not coming in. I have asked them to pay my capital back, but to no avail. They keep asking investors to hold on, and we have been doing so since last September,” he said.

“Once, I went to their office and collected the number of one of their bosses. But each time I called him, he ignored me. Freedom Synergy Pro ignores everyone’s messages.

“Now, when people call Nigerian Info on its live programme, they will cut you off. Many people have been complaining, but they cut them off.”

A colleague Ogunruku introduced to Freedom Synergy pro told FIJ how she lost N200,000 to the company.

The lady, who pleaded anonymity, told FIJ that the company promised to pay her a five percent return on investment every month for a year but paid her only twice.

“After they paid me in June and July, they stopped paying. They gave me N10,500 and N15,770 respectively before they vanished,” she said.

“When they were to pay for the third month, they came up with the incredible lie that the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) banned their advertisement and it was affecting them.

“It’s been over a year and I haven’t heard from Freedom Synergy Pro. I learnt they closed their office in Ikeja because people kept going to their office to threaten them. They should refund my capital.”

FIJ placed several calls to Freedom Synergy Pro, but it did not connect. They had also not responded to a text sent to them at press time.
