Deborah Wahab, a Benin Republic graphics designer, has accused Wale Elebu, a show promoter in Ibadan, of refusing to pay for party flyers designed for him.
She told FIJ that Elebu promised to pay her N14,000 for two flyer designs but stopped communicating with her after receiving them.
The designer said she delivered the first design on August 13, the same day Elebu gave her the job, and the second one the following day.
“After I did the perfect job, I sent him my account details, but I did not receive any alert or get a message from him the following day. I reached out to him but he didn’t reply me. I was furious, because this was someone who gave me difficulty before he hired me,” Wahab told FIJ.
“I called him, but he declined my calls. I messaged him on Thursday to know why he had not paid, but he said his boss had not paid him.

“He said his boss promised to pay him after the show, which was held on Friday. On Sunday, I messaged him but he didn’t reply me.”
When contacted, Elebu said he would pay the designer on Monday. FIJ checked on Tuesday morning, but he had not paid the money.
