Ike Ekweremadu, former Deputy Senate President, and Nwanneka, his wife, have been arrested in the United Kingdom (UK) for attempting to traffic a child for organ harvesting.
They were arrested by the metropolitan police on Thursday and will be arraigned later today at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, Daily Mail reported.
Both are charged with conspiracy to arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploit.
The minor has been taken into police custody for safeguarding. Their age, name and gender are kept away from the press.
