18.03.2022 Featured In Enugu, EFCC Arrests Church Founder Wanted by FBI for Wire Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Enugu has arrested Kelechi Anozie, a suspect on the watch list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

On its website, the EFCC said its operatives arrested Anozie on March 10, “following credible intelligence linking him to alleged conspiracy, wire fraud and money laundering”.

The anti-graft agency said it arrested Anozie and four other suspects after they allegedly defrauded a citizen of the United States.

“Anozie and four other suspects: Valentine Iro, Ekene Ekechukwu (alias Ogedi Power), Bright Azubuike (alias Bright Bauer Azubuike) and Ifeanyi Junior, are alleged to have defrauded one F.F who lives in Illinois, United States, the sum of $135,800 US Dollars and another $47,000,” the EFCC wrote.

Anozie is a pastor and founder of Praying City Church, Owerri, Imo State.
