Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have shot teargas at protesters of the #EndBadGovernance protest in Abuja, triggering fears a baby might have died in the process.

A protester at the Eagle Square, Abiodun Sanusi, told FIJ that an infant was fear dead due to the teargas attack aimed at protesters at the Eagle Square.

“I learnt that an infant and her mother were tear-gassed. Some people are saying the infant has died,” he said.

Speaking to FIJ, Mustapha Usman, who was present at the protest at the Eagle Square, confirmed that policemen indeed shot rounds of teargas at protesters.

He also confirmed to us that the woman and her baby were one of those affected by the teargas attack.

“We left there shortly to the stadium, so I am not sure if the baby died or not,” Usman said.
