10.02.2021 EndSARS Watch JUST IN: Court Orders CBN to Unfreeze Accuounts of 20 #EndSARS Protest Promoters

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to unfreeze the accounts of the 20 individuals and organisations who played frontline roles in the nationwide #EndSARS protests of October 2020.

On Sunday, the protesters had expressed displeasure over how their accounts remained frozen despite the expiration of the 90-day order.

Ahmed Mohammed, the judge who presided over the case, issued the order on Tuesday.

In October 2020 CBN, obtained an order from the court to freeze the accounts of the 20 police brutality protesters.

Some of the affected individuals include Bolatito Racheal Oduala, Chima David Ibebunjoh, Mary Doose Kpengwa, Saadat Temitope Bibi, Bassey Victor Israel, Wisdom Busaosowo Obi, Nicholas Ikhalea Osazele, Ebere Idibie, Akintomide Lanre Yusuf, Uhuo Ezenwanyi Promise, Mosopefoluwa Odeseye and Gatefield.
