Edwin Clark, leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), is dead. He was 97 years old.
His family released a statement announcing Clark died on Monday night.
The statement read, “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday 17th February, 2025. The family appreciates your prayers at this time. Other details will be announced later by the family.”
Clark’s passing comes days after Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Afenifere leader, died at the age of 96.

Both men participated in the 2022 Greater Nigeria Conference (GNC) in Abuja and supported a move to back a presidential candidate from Nigeria’s southeast.
Clark has participated in politics and governance for a long time. He served as Commissioner for Education in the defunct Mid-Western Region between 1968 and 1971.
He vacated this office to serve as Commissioner for Finance and Establishment in the defunct Bendel State from 1972 to 1975.
In 1975, he became Commissioner for Information before taking up a Senate seat from 1979 to 1983.
