Rashidi Ladoja, a former Oyo State Governor and Osi Olubadan of Ibadan, has backed the nomination of Senator Lekan Balogun as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Ladoja is currently the second in command in the Olubadan-in-Council and next to Balogun in the Olubadan line.

“Uninformed people are just causing unnecessary tension in Ibadan. There is no controversy about who becomes the next Olubadan after the demise of Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogunguniso 1,” The Nation quoted him to have said while receiving visitors in his house in Bodija, Ibadan, on Thursday.

This statement comes after Michael Lana, a former Oyo State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, wrote a letter challenging Balogun’s rise to the throne.
On Wednesday, 10 Ibadan high chiefs gathered to endorse Balogun for the throne.
