Niyi Oyinlola, a business analyst in Lagos, has accused Lagos-based entrepreneur Emmanuel Omokhomion of refusing to return his wireless microphone and LED light despite repeated efforts to retrieve them.
Oyinlola told FIJ that he has given Omokhomion multiple deadlines to return his equipment, all of which he has failed to meet. He involved a lawyer to warn Omokhomion of potential legal action, but Omokhomion has remained unresponsive. FIJ has also tried to contact Omokhomion several times, but he has not responded.
The business analyst, who claims to have lost paid gigs due to the missing equipment, said his troubles with Omokhomion began in November 2023 after he agreed to lend him newly purchased equipment to support Omokhomion’s podcast venture.

He stated that he lent Omokhomion various items — including four tripods, a light box, two microphones, two portable video recording kits, two phone holders, a bulb, a smartphone gimbal, and an LG HD smart projector — after Omokhomion shared his podcast idea on November 27, 2023.
According to Oyinlola, everything seemed fine until September 18, when an X user hosted a space where several people said that Omokhomion had a history of dishonesty.
“Once I heard this, I politely called him, saying I needed the equipment for a shoot. He agreed but asked for more time, claiming he was out of the office,” Oyinlola told FIJ.
On September 24, Oyinlola contacted Omokhomion to arrange a shoot at BeckyzArcade, a studio Omokhomion claimed to own and had previously allowed him access to. However, Omokhomion said the studio was booked and promised to return the equipment a few days later but failed to do so.
Oyinlola said Omokhomion promised to return the equipment multiple times but continually made excuses. Eventually, Oyinlola sent an Uber to collect the equipment from Omokhomion’s office, but two items were missing: a microphone, worth nearly N40,000, and an LED light, valued at almost N65,000.
“I told him these items were missing, and he directed me to contact Biodun, his manager. However, when I called Biodun, he said Omokhomion was at the back of the house smoking cannabis, despite telling me he was not around,” Oyinlola explained.
Oyinlola also questioned if there was an event on the days Omokhomion had claimed he was too busy to return the equipment, but Biodun said that wasn’t true.
“This was someone my company supported with a DJ, photographer, and videographer for his brand launch party as a token of the good relationship we thought we had,” Oyinlola added.
Oyinlola believes Omokhomion has no intention of returning the remaining equipment.
When FIJ contacted Omokhomion via iMessage on October 19, he claimed to have returned 90% of what he borrowed and accused Oyinlola of defaming him.
FIJ contacted Omokhomion again on Saturday, but Omokhomion read the message without responding.
On Sunday, Oyinlola took to X for the second time to publicly call out Omokhomion for failing to return his equipment.
