Babajide Muyiwa, a Lagos-based sports broadcaster, has accused officials of the Lagos State Task Force of extorting N100,000 from him on Monday.

Muyiwa, in a thread of tweets via his Twitter page @BabajideGuerero on Tuesday evening, said the officials framed him for a traffic offence and dragged him to their office.

He identified one of them as “Adeyemi, leader of the Team C Lagos Task Force”, who ordered him to reverse on Edmund Street in Yaba and filmed him doing so.

This tape, according to Muyiwa, was used as an exhibit in the traffic violation case.

FIJ called Abdulraheem Gbadeyan, the task force’s director of press and public affairs, but he did not take our calls. He also had not responded to our text messages at press time.

When FIJ called Benjamin Hundeyin for comments, he asked that we contact the Police Complaints Unit. The unit did not respond to calls either, and did not respond to our text message.
