Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the Minister of Women Affairs, has placed a N2 million bounty on Adachukwu Chukelu Okafor, an Anambra-based lawyer who allegedly molested her 10-year-old housekeeper.

FIJ recently reported how Adachukwu, a lawyer and self-confessed “lover of God,” molested 10-year-old Happiness by inserting a hot knife into her private part as punishment and burning her buttocks with a hot pressing iron.

FIJ learned that the Anambra-based lawyer went into hiding after the incident, rendering the efforts of the police in apprehending her futile. A neighbour of Happiness’ aunt told FIJ that he suspected the zonal police were attempting to sweep the case under the carpet.

“It seems the zonal police in charge of this case want the case to die a natural death. The aunty told me the zonal police said the case was no longer in their hand. I suspect that there has been some movement which has made them treat the case with some nonchalant approach,” he told FIJ.

“This is so bad, and I believe that if a proper investigation is done, the lady will be charged and arrested.”

This case has attracted the attention of the public, with many Nigerians calling out for the arrest of Adachukwu to serve as deterrence to other child molesters across the country.

On her official X handle, the minister posted: “I am personally concerned about the health status of the 10-year-old girl who is presently undergoing medical treatment in a hospital at Awka, Anambra State after the attack by her guardian.”

“I used the opportunity to place a N2 million reward for anybody with useful information that can lead to her arrest by the police.”
