One notable dignitary spotted in the main video is Abba Kabir Yusuf, Kano State Governor. While the poster had insinuated that the funeral was that of the former president, FIJ found otherwise.
An image reverse search with Google Lens shows that the video clip was taken in March during the burial of the mother of Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.
Multiple sources, from news reports and social media posts on Facebook, X and Instagram, confirmed this.
For instance, Abdulrahman Abdulbasir, a member of Governor Radda’s media team, shared the clip of the funeral on his X page on March 23.
He included the caption, “The funeral ceremony of late Haj. Safara’u Umaru Radda, mother of the Executive Governor of Katsina State Malam Dikko Radda, today at his home town Raɗɗa, attended by governor of Kano State Yusuf Abba and his counterpart of Jigawa State Umar Sulaiman Namadi.”

The video also circulated on other social media platforms in March, as seen here, here, here and here. News reports, such as this and this, also corroborate the fact that the video is from March.
The recirculation of this funeral video of the Katsina governor’s mother three months after the event, falsely claiming it is that of Buhari, is an attempt to take advantage of recent events to share misleading information.
It is recirculating amid reports of the former president’s medical treatment in the United Kingdom due to an undisclosed illness.

One reply on “Misleading! Buhari’s ‘Burial’ Video From March Funeral of Katsina Gov’s Mother”
When they need medical assistance, they go abroad. When they die, they are buried in Nigeria.
Buhari was president for eight years, and I am still scratching my head to discover his one accomplishment. None.
Nigerian presidents, past and present, are the most useless lot.
