The national grid collapsed to a power generation of zero megawatts on Monday, causing a nationwide power outage.
The seventh collapse of the grid in 2022 happened at about 10:51am, according to the Nigeria Electricity System Operator , a section of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

The TCN is yet to explain the reason for the collapse.
The grid collapsed last in July. Prior to that, it collapsed once in June, twice in April and twice in March.
