The terrorist attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State, is a gun raid rather than a bomb blast as reported by a number of platforms, a lady whose father was killed has told FIJ.

Unidentified gunmen attacked the church on Sunday, spraying bullets at congregants and attempting to kidnap a revered father.

FIJ has not yet been able to confirm if the attempted kidnap was successful or not.

However, a lady whose father was killed in the attack said “many innocent people” had been killed in cold blood.

“The moment I heard about it, I knew my parents were not likely to survive,” she said.

“My parents hardly miss church and always sit at the back. My dad, in particular, he was the Chairman of the Catholic Men Organisation, so he never missed church.”

Continuing, she wailed: “Nigeria has killed me! Nigeria has killed me!!

“I cannot believe this is happening to me. If my dad was sick, I would accept my fate. But to have been shot in church just like that?”
