A Nigerian Twitter user, Vivian Agbata, has lamented how her hand luggage disappeared at Swissport International Limited, an international air cargo company, after travelling from the United Kingdom to Ireland on May 24.

In a series of tweets on Sunday, Vivian stated that she lost her luggage in front of Swissport, while trying to claim another luggage at the Dublin airport, Ireland.

“I lost my personal hand luggage just inside Swissport, Dublin airport baggage claim office in trying to claim my luggage that was sent in another flight. How can I come in to claim a luggage and lost a more valuable one just inside of your office? I won’t take this easy,” Vivian wrote.

Vivian stated that she left the missing luggage in front of the cargo company to fetch another bag but could no longer find it on her return.

She said the cargo company would later tell her the bag had been stolen. Vivian also said the company refused to reveal the identity of the person who stole her luggage.

“I was flying from London City Airport to Dublin Airport on British Airways flight BA 4466 on 24th May 14:40-16:00. The luggage was left behind in front of Swissport and calling after 1:30hrs, they said it’s stolen and refused to give a footage of who stole it,” she wrote.

She further stated that after reporting the incident to the airport police, she did not get any response from them.

“I mean who walked right inside your office to steal? I have reported to the airport police since May 24 and no response from anyone of the team involved. The very heartbreaking thing is the response from the female staffer who picked up the call telling me someone stole it,” the Twitter user wrote.

“How did it get moved out of your stand in just few minutes after I discovered it wasn’t with me and could not rush back in because I had crossed immigration point of no return. And I had called for over 1:30hrs before they could pick up only to say someone stole it.”

FIJ sent an email to Stefan Hartung, Swissport’s Senior Communications Manager for comments, but it had not got any response at press time.
