Nigerians in London, England, have gathered outside Chatham House, an independent policy institute in the city, to protest the decision of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to speak in the UK while shunning live debates by local press.

On Monday afternoon, the aggrieved protesters chanted and raised placards that read, ‘Bobo Chicago’, a reference to Tinubu’s links to a drug trafficking ring in the US, as well as his controversial academic history in the University of Chicago.

One of the placards read, “Bobo Chicago, go and seek your herdin [sic] and leave us alone.”

In a video published on Twitter by Reno Omokri, former media aide to Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, protesters can be seen marching through the street, calling Tinubu’s name, and making references to him with derogatory words.

Tinubu is vying for the office of president, and is hoping to replace Muhammadu Buhari when the presidential election holds in February 2023.
