The Centre for Education Plan (also Eduplana) has reported that at least three government schools are in deplorable conditions in Jigawa State.
In a series of tweets on Thursday, the civic-tech organisation reported the deplorable state of the schools.
One of the schools, Model Boarding Primary and Junior Secondary School, has 600 students learning in deplorable condition.
In another school, Jigawa Primary School, Dutse, dilapidated structures threaten the safety of students. Falling roofs, bad windows and doors, poor toilet facilities, and cracked walls render the environment inconducive for learning. The school is also understaffed, as “over 453 pupils are taught by 5 teachers”, according to Eduplana.

In Gurgun Daho Primary School, Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, only three teachers teach about 268 students.
