On Sunday, some angry youths in the Tangaza Local Government Area of the state had set ablaze six suspected armed bandits allegedly involved in an attack on Saturday.

Sokoto has witnessed a sudden rise in banditry in recent months, leading to a renewed onslaught by the military to rout the bandits.

The state government recently banned mobile telecommunication networks in 14 of its 23 local government areas to complement the efforts of security agents in the fighting the bandits.
