Israel Balogun, the movie producer detained by Apostle Johnson Suleiman for criticising him, has regained freedom, FIJ can report.
Balogun’s lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, revealed on Thursday that his client had been released after one day in Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) custody over a petition by Suleiman.
“My client, Mr Israel Balogun has been released from the custody of the FCIID, Abuja. He was detained yesterday over a petition by Apostle Johnson Suleiman after he called him out and debunked his miracle money claims,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.

At a Holy Ghost Convention in Auchi and an Impact 2021 programme in Atlanta earlier this year, Suleiman had declared that angels would credit the bank accounts of some members of the congregation. Several attendees found their way to the pulpit afterwards and said they had received credit alerts from angels.
However, Balogun released a video on his Facebook page, arguing that the act was staged. Consequently, he got a lawsuit from Suleiman and an invitation to the FCIID office in Abuja where he was interrogated and locked up.
