Patience Nkpe, a Delta State-based police officer, has accused First Bank of refusing to refund her N50,700 after a failed Point of Sale (POS) transaction two months ago.

Nkpe told FIJ that she had wanted to withdraw the money via a POS terminal in the State on October 6.

According to Nkpe, the first transaction attempt was declined due to network issue, but the second attempt by the POS operator was successful.

The police officer was surprised when she received two debit alerts from First Bank instead of one since the initial transaction failed.

After waiting for a reversal to no avail, she went to the bank’s branch in Effurun that same day to report the incident.

“The customer care representative told me that the money was there and that I should not be offended as it would be reversed.

“I went there again on October 30. They asked me to fill a complaint form, which I did and returned to the woman at the customer care department. The money has not been reversed since then.

“I have been going to the bank almost every week, two times each. I even met the bank manager, who apologised and assured me that I would see my money.
